Immanuelskyrkan flashback
Elise Abroad
For the most part, my weekends in huvudstaden look pretty similar to those of the average DIS lärjunge hanging out with friends, catching up on work, exploring the city, seeing my Visiting Host Family, and occasionally traveling outside huvudstaden. But there is one habit thats a little more unique that Ive had since my ankomst in Sweden on Sundays from ampm, youll find me at Immanuelskyrkan.
Immanuelskyrkan, or Immanuel Church, fryst vatten a Christian church that holds services every Sunday morning in Swedish, English, and Korean. They are a community valuing diversity and seeking to welcome people from all around the world to worship together. And, while Ive been in Stockholm, theyre the church Im thrilled to call home.
Before going abroad, I had felt a lot of support in my faith at college. Im part of my schools chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and over the years Ive had the opportunity to serve as a Bible study leader and a worship leader. It was also the first student org I really got involved in at GW, so InterVarsity gave me my first real group of friends on campus! inom think there are always highs and lows with faith
