Blank spray vs hög blank
Spray Max 2K Clear; The Ultimate Blank finish!?!?!?

Ever since inom started building rods about 6 years ago, inom have experimented with a few different methods of “clearing” a raw blank. Recently though, the trend is to leave the blank uncoated, in it’s raw, possibly sanded condition. While that is fine-and-dandy from merely a vikt perspective (infantesimal as it may be), epoxies, including those used in blank manufacturing, are typically sensitive to UV and other environmental conditions. Relying on previous knowledge gained from the composite and body shop industries, I suspected the ultimate finish would be a 2-part catalyzed automotive klar as used by auto manufactures and body repair shops, especially if employing a “flex additive” as is the case with modern, painted “soft bumpers”. These top-quality clears are designed to withstand years of constant bombardment from the sun (UV), acid rain, road gook and scratching. But top-quality 2-part clears are very expensive (>$ / gallon) and the selected body shop would need to be paid as well making that avenue quite costly if not simply inconvenient.
With the 2-part cle
Qwik Spray vs High Pressure Spray for Hard Coat: Which to Use?
The two most common spray methods VFI hard coat products utilize are Qwik Spray and high pressure spray. Spraying, in general, provides applicators with several advantages – speed, uniformity, and reduced labor costs – compared to roller and brush applications.
Those new to spraying can benefit by starting with a cartridge-based applicator. However, it can also be hard to know if it is the best application method for you. There may come a time when your production line could benefit from upgrading to a high-pressure spray rig. Maybe you started making small displays and signs for retail stores but have recently been contracted for bigger work by theme park and attraction companies. VFI has excellent technical and customer service support to guide you when making this important decision.
Note: Always wear proper protective equipment (PPE), including an approved respirator, regardless of what equipment you’re using. Also, utilize a well-ventilated spray booth where necessary.

Hi build primer and spray filler comparisons ?
Think of Re-face as an alternative to conventional bog, expect you would typically use the Re-face on larger irregular repairs, and clearly its applied by gun v. spatula. Otherwise the properties are the same in terms of build etc. Being 2K you can pretty much build as much as you like with it. Like any 2K its a PIA to clean from the gun, and you will need a larger nozzle size compared to a primer/finish. Be aware also that Re-face shouldnt be applied over etch primer.
Spray filler is designed to fill minorirregularities. Yes you can build it if you have patience however its not designed for that and youre asking for trouble, maybe even later on as it shrinks back. I also use the spray filler from cans just because I dont want to clean a gun constantly. However the stuff from cans has low solid content compared to conventional can based filler, so for anything other than constant small jobs use a gun, it also requires a larger nozzle.
Basically the sequence is to use your re-face ov
